The permanent observer to United Nations ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council)
H.E Dr. Maged Chahin, a Lebanese citizen, holds a Doctorate in Economics and Public Relations. Notwithstanding, his Excellency is a top entrepreneur with diversified investments in Europe and the Middle East region.
Born in Lebanon, he is involved in his home state in more ways than just investing. With deep roots in social responsibility and his finger on the pulse of changes in the Lebanese community, His Excellency believes that committing to a long-term vision is the way to realize effective and lasting impact results.
For the great role he plays in providing international economic counseling services His Excellency has been granted the title of “Special envoy and chief economic advisor”
Besides counseling, Dr. Maged Georges Chahine is deeply involved in community services, as he supports the means to promote food security, education, health, development and peace, which is believed to be vitally important and will lead to benefiting Lebanese society.
His Excellency's underlying belief "don't sow seeds in infertile land" motivates him to improve the communities in which he intends to invest with his strong and hands-on approach.
The Ambassador believes in the power of the idea and the human mind in building and changing the reality of a society. Therefore, he provides scholarships to people with potential and invests deeply in his team. ’ His approach is centered around the belief that the economy represents not just an engine for industry, but an opportunity to demonstrate the inalienable dignity of all people and a system that prioritizes people will be more inclusive and creative
He always aims to build a solid economy for countries where he intends to invest, and that requires the ability of a society to advance itself in isolation from the outside, by turning it from consumer societies to productive one providing work places ,decent income and fulfilling society needs.
Last but not least, it is known that Foreign firms often are attracted to invest in similar areas to existing FDI (Foreign Direct Investment). The reason is that they can benefit from external economies of scale – growth of service industries and transport links. Also, there will be greater confidence to invest in areas with a good track record. Therefore, some countries can benefit from a virtuous cycle of attracting investment and then these initial investments attracting more. His Excellency, as a patriot, tends to create this virtuous circle by investing in his country so that he can attract other foreign direct investments and help his own people to prosper.
